Prompt  May 2, 2015

“Mommy always loved me most. She told me I was her favorite. Now the police are taking Mommy away. They say she took a hatchet to my brother, but she didn’t hurt me.”

Prompt May 9, 2015

“My mommy is dead, we buried her last month. Grandma and Grandpa came from far away to watch her be put in a box and then the box get buried. Daddy says Mommy can’t come back.  He dropped the plate he was drying when I told him she was standing beside him, smiling at me.”

Prompt May 16, 2015

“Tears ran down my face as I threw my knapsack over the cemetery fence and then climbed it. When my feet hit the sodden ground I  claimed my knapsack, ducked down and ran to where they had buried my mother. I placed the flowers against her tombstone and lit a candle for her. Then I closed my eyes and began, “Mighty Hecate, I implore you to release her.”

Prompt May 23, 2015

“Do you ever wonder about the first daughter who killed her mother? Who was she and what did her mother do that allowed for such a dark need to grow inside her? I never did much, until I ended up sitting in a room, holding a bloody knife, with my mother’s lifeless body staring up at me.”

May 30, 2015

“Shhh… close your eyes, baby. Mommy is going to take you away from here, someplace where he can never hurt us again. It will only sting for a minute and then you will be free.”
